Kelowna Women's Shelter Cheque Presentation

We love presenting cheques to our favourite charitable organizations!
President Allisa Wu along with our own Jim Hawkins and Virginia & Tanya from Olivia's presented Ester Pike of the Kelowna Women's Shelter a cheque for $1082.05. The entire proceeds from our recent Virtual Oil and Vinegar Tasting! Thank you to everyone who participated and purchased a kit!

Picking Fruit for the Food Bank

Rotary Now! Kelowna members joined with others from several other Rotary Clubs to pick apples for the Food Bank.  This project was organized by the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project (https://fruittreeproject.com) who are a registered charity that has been coordinating volunteers in the South & Central Okanagan since 2012 to harvest food for schools and community organizations.

Rotary Now! Partners with Canadian Blood Services

Blood supplies in Canada range from an inventory of 5 days to 12 days, the average being ~1 week.  The need is always there, and the stories are so powerful!  You can see some of these stories at https://www.blood.ca/en.  Rotary Now! Kelowna is now a partner for life with Canadian Blood Services. We have an annual pledge of 25 units of blood. If you are able to donate, please register to join our team (Rotary Now PartnerID# ROTA0090474).  If you are unable to donate, please use your persuasive skills to get a friend to take your place, and they could join our partners for life.

Helping Out at Arion Farms!

Arion Therapeutic Farms is a not-for-profit facility that offers therapeutic and family programs for all sorts of people in our community.  Rotary has been helping out at Arion for many years, and local clubs (notably the Kelowna Capri Rotary Club) have done everything from volunteer services to financing their indoor riding facility.  Rotary Now! Kelowna enjoyed a pleasant Saturday this summer helping out by landscaping, painting, and repairing fences.  Community based projects like this one are the most fundamental way that Rotarians can give back while enjoying their time together!
